This painting was rendered with pastels in the colours of South Africa to highlight the ongoing crisis of the plight of Rhino and the murder and torture these beautiful animals go through every 11 hours. Here I painted their horns red to show they have what it takes to be saved.Without horns, tourists wouldn't have amazing stories to tell their grandchildren and future generations. All that would be left are carcasses and stuffed make believe statues of rhino standing around with cams and sound boxes and the odd swing of a tail, so that future tourists could have some an inkling of what lay in the world for 175 million years but ceased to exist in 2013. Biography

Hi my name is Sandi Vince, I am a self taught artist and enjoy a variety of mediums. At the moment I work with pastels, acrylics and watercolour and a little charcoal. I have always felt that art is an extension of one's feelings and emotions. Those words are portray themselves better in colours and lines and images. Art is a weapon that can portray beauty and evil but it is an image that can be everlasting and powerful.

My art is mostly about nature and my belief that nature mirrors humanity. When I paint or draw , I hope that my art reaches your soul and touches something there. Every piece of my work is deep roted and I spend many restless nights to try to get my emotions across in my work hoping that everyone that partakes at looking at one of my pieces finds the story and walks away either feeling exhileration or sometimes even sadness, perhaps a mixture of both.

I am writing a children's book at the moment, and have decided that I wished to make the illustrations for my book. I sure did not realise how long it can take to write a book. The idea came upon me when my grandson was born in 2010. I wanted to gift him with love and teach him about nature at the same time. Innitially, it was only going to be his book, but since I started painting the pictures, many in the world have said, dedicate the book to him but please publish the book. So two years on, nearly finished the paintings, I face the overwhelming challenge of finding a publisher. But I will be adding some of the paintings from my book in the art pages.

I hope you enjoy my galleries and hope you leave feeling charged with emotions.
