Leanne Clarke The COVID Effect - 3 Key Ways The Workplace Has Changed For Good
Back To Blogs List

We’ve all undergone one of the most tumultuous and unprecedented living and working environments we’ll ever experience. However, as we continue to move through 2022, it is being clear that the way we live, and work has changed forever. These new ‘trends’ and working situations are no longer becoming a temporary circumstance. In fact, in many ways, the workplace has changed for good. Offices are downsizing and removalists companies like Outer Space Removals North Sydney, to move the remaining office furniture to smaller premises as more employees are working from home on a part-time basis. Here are the three main ways that offices and working environments are changed forever:

1. Reinvented Workplaces

If you are one of the workers that have had to go back to the office, you’re in somewhat of a unique position. Desolate, empty and kind of eery, offices are now the place in which employees are keeping their distance. In order to accommodate new changes, dividing office products like Autex acoustic wall linings, dividing screens and work pods are now commonplace – and this trend is here to stay.

2. Adjusting the Purpose & Meaning of Work

As more employees return to work, they are undoubtedly coming back with new feelings, concerns, outlooks and expectations. It’s no surprise – we’ve all been through a lot – that people have increased thoughts about their lives, families, health and where their work fits into that. Workplaces and employers have to adjust to ensure that their environments accommodate for these new priorities.

3. Overcoming Social Isolation

Still working from home? You’re in the majority. One key way that workplaces have changed forever is that most workers have had to work remotely, from home or another space. This is not going to change anytime soon. While many cities and locations allow for COVID restrictions to relax and employees to return to offices, many have found that coming into an office is not necessarily… necessary. The key aspect from this trend is that employers need to ensure that if their workers continue to operate remotely, they need to have the right tools and support to overcome social isolation.
