Island Peak, also known as the Imja Tse, is the most admired trekking peak in the Everest region. It is located at 6189m on the top of Chhukung Glacier, between the Lhotse and Ama Dablam Mountains.
It is a Lhotse Shar porch separated by a small pass on the south ridge. Eric Shipton introduced Island Peak as a striking climbing peak in Nepal in 1952 AD. Island Peak climbing is combined with the thrilling Everest Base Camp trek. It is a unique reward for mountain climbers in Nepal, bringing them close to the Himalayan ethnic Sherpa village, culture, customs, monasteries, Chhortens, and alpine flora and fauna in the Sagarmatha National Park. The trip leads to the top of Island Peak by using peak climbing equipment such as crampons on boots, climbing ropes, an ice ax, a harness, carabineers, and descending gamer. Nuptse (7879m), Lhotse (8501m), Lhotse Middle Peak (8410m), and Lhotse Shar (8383m), Makalu (8475m), Baruntse, and Amadablam, as well as Glaciers and Glacial Lakes, can be seen from the peak's summit. The Island Peak climbing routes are south-east and south-west ridge, with the camp located at Pareshaya Gyab, which is located between the Island Peak and Imja Glacier.
The trekking's natural and cultural scenery, as well as its ascent to the base camp and Kalapatthar, keeps climbers physically fit and acclimatized at higher altitudes in the Khumbu region.Climbers prefer to climb this peak before attempting higher Himalayan peaks such as Mt. Everest due to its technicality and beautiful features.
