Emma Stone and director Yorgos Lanthimos are teaming up again in their latest film Poor Things.
The movie is a tale of love, discovery and scientific daring based on Alasdair Gray's novel of the same name.

The role marks Stone's first major feature film since 2021's Disney Cruella, which told the origin story of the iconic villain 101 Dalmatians.
This forms her third collaboration with Yorgos Lanthimos, Emma Stone received an Oscar award for her role in 2018.
In addition to Stone, the film also stars Dafoe, Ruffalo Jerrod Carmichael, Ramy Youssef, Christopher Abbott, Margaret Qualley, Kathryn Hunter, Suzy Bemba and Wayne Brett.
Poor Things will hit theaters on December 8, 2023. Previously, the film will premiere at the 80th Venice International Film Festival on September 1.
Synopsis
Poor Things will focus on the very extraordinary story and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Emma Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant scientist and Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe).
Under Baxter's protection, Bella is eager to learn, hungry for a less-than-satisfying worldliness, Bella runs away with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a cunning and lecherous lawyer, on a stormy adventure across the continent.
Free from the prejudices of her time, Bella grows ever more resolute in her goal to stand up for equality and liberation.
In a feature for the movie released on August 30, Stone said that Bella's character understands what it means to be a member of society, and a woman.
Something goes wrong, as she plays with a half-dog, half-bird animal, and her movements are very strange.
Then Dafoe appeared with a Frankenstein-like scar on his face, he revealed that he was the result of an experiment, his brain and body were out of sync, but his progress was very rapid.
