Artwork Description
At the beginning of our yoga practice, our yogi sometimes starts us by meditating over open cupped palms. You can have them for giving something up to the Universe. Or asking for something to fill them. You set the intention of your practice. But the gesture looks the same. That's true of life, too - - open to giving, you are also open to receiving. This work was done for the "beginning" of my chaplain friend K, as she started giving (and receiving!) in hospitals and hospices.

Biography

A writer by trade, an artist for fun! When I make a work for someone in particular, I pray for that person with each stroke of the brush.

While these pieces are mostly a way for me to work out my creativity, sometimes they turn out to be as meaningful to others as they are to me.

Hopefully each work "says" what its viewer needs to hear.
