Artwork Description This painting is a depiction of the biblical couple Adam and Eve, expressed as a personification and spirit of humanity. It is also an attempt to arrive at a racial balance with my humanity, after looking at man and woman as poles at each end of a rainbow, that represents race and gender. Like day and night, we are one. God’s breath in the body of man and woman is racial, only in the separation of genders. So man and woman in their totality are half Black and half white. Inspiration for this work came from the inter-racial union between Blacks and Whites (males and females alike), during the 1980's. Adam and Eve is part of my “Polarity of the Sexes” series.
