My name is Janelle Dimmett, and I am a spunky and extremely creative Illustrator. I currently reside in the St. Louis, Missouri area, and I'm from a small town named Villa Ridge. I’m an artist who specializes in Surface Design, Pattern Design, Technical Art, and Whimsical Illustration. I recently earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2013. Along with my Illustration degree, I also have a strong background in Graphic Arts and Visual Design. I spent three years (2008-2011) studying graphic design prior to my acceptance to the Kansas City Art Institute's Illustration program.
I generally work in a traditional manner, and I ultimately consider myself a "marker artist." However, I would not necessarily restrict myself to that medium. My tools are markers, pens, and typically Photoshop for editing.
I prefer to not restrict myself to one specific set of interests. Instead I prefer to keep an open mind about my subject matter. I love working with animal concepts, pattern, botanical imagery, quirky ideas, spot illustration, and just about anything.
