Biography
SUDARSHAN VERMA An artist of heights unmatched in terms of dedication and indulgence have been serving the discipline of art with a romanticism to feeling of honesty and non commercial attitude to art practice. Sudrashan Verma, an artist born in late thirties, in the small religious city of Nathdwara imbibed a sound character and honesty in his attitude right from the beginning. Love for Krishna as an integral part of life and polity in the small pilgrimage town strengthened his feeling of creativity and imagination that was reflected later in his works. Although not gifted with material resources in life to fulfill creative needs this talented artist created real life masterpieces of work. His deep thoughts of sensitive feeling for humanity can be seen in his abstract and contemporary art works. Historical figures developed by him in his times are serving as reference points even today. Apart from being gifted with understanding and application of colors to express deep thoughts Sudarshan Verma has been writing juvenile poetry on realistic progressive issues of life. He has painted the founder of Arya Samaj Dayanand Saraswati who spent some time in Udaipur’s Gulab Bagh Nawlakha Mahal. Udaipur City has been work place and residence of infamous but distinguished artist. Medeival time historical heroes of National fame have been thought and painted by Sudarshan Verma. Prominent historical figures that were painted are Maharana Pratap who fought for his freedom and integrity, Bhamashah who donated his fortune to prepare for famous battle of Haldighati that challenged Mughal Emperor Akbar, Hakim Khan Sur, A Pathan who was commandor of Forces of Maharana Pratap. Life of Mr.Sudarshan Verma has been legendry in terms of integrity and devotion to the world of art. Going along with the glorious art character of Mr Verma, many accolades have been credited to his account. To describe a few, his work and thoughts were instrumental in statues of National Heroes being installed at Government recognized monument park on lake side of Fatehsagar in Udaipur City of India. The statues are purely the design and inspiration of Mr Verma. His works outperformed the named artists of the time and his pure feel for the local heroes were recognized with the rewards for example by late prime minister Mr Rajiv Gandhi at the time of inauguration of Bhilu Rana’s statue in Moti Magri monument park on lake side in 1989. Mr Madhav Rao Scindhia tourism minister rewarded Mr Verma in 1992 at the inauguration of statue of Hakim Khan Sur at the same monument in 1992. Mr Verma’s one of the finest works have been displayed in Navlakha Mahal in Sajjan Niwas City Garden Library. Moments of life of Dayanand Saraswati are illustrated in the form of motion picture in the form of 25 paintings. Paintings are centre of attraction of library. Mr Sudarshan Verma is gifted to commence a world class poetry with a high degree of litrary assets. He described the precepts of the Geeta in passive language in teaching style. Mr Verma is an artist of great imagination. His art, whether it is realistic, traditional of modern in matchless. He has immortal memories in Udaipur, the city of lakes. Apart from paintings and poetry, he is having a great knowledge to deliver his expression in sculpture, life sketches and portraits. His creation will go long to delight many generations to come.
