safetotosite pro3 “More Central Strikers? The Majesty Of SON!“ “SON's Glorious Resurgence Has Changed Tottenham's January Transfer Strategy“
Back To Blogs List
On January 17 (KST), soccer specialized media TeamTalk reported, "Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has chosen Harry Kane's successor. However, Tottenham manager Postecoglou has changed his strategy for the winter transfer window, prioritizing transfers to strengthen two other positions.

"Son Heung-min's dazzling return to form has made Harry Kane's absence a distant memory. His combination with summer signings James Maddison and van der Vaart has strengthened Tottenham," and "Daniel Levy has continued his search for a frontline central striker with Kane's transfer fee. The likes of Dusan Blagojevich and Ivan Toney have been considered, but the first choice is Eredivisie ace Jimenez." 'Feyenoord are demanding a £60m transfer fee, and Tottenham are willing to meet it. However, Postecoglou's priorities at the moment are central midfield and defensive reinforcements. A move for Jimenez has been pushed back to next summer. In January, he said that midfield and defense were the first positions he wanted to strengthen in the winter transfer window.

Last summer, Tottenham sold world-class striker Harry Kane. Kane's departure to Bayern Munich left Tottenham with a serious void. Adding a central striker seemed urgent.

However, the presence of Son Heung-min minimized the impact of Kane's departure. Postecoglou has implanted a fearless, attacking style of soccer called 'angry ball' into his squad. He started with Xherdan Shaqiri up top, but he struggled. Despite the sharpness of Son and Kluczewski on the left and right flanks, and James Maddison's role as an attacking midfielder, Tottenham's attack failed to explode early in the season.

As soon as Son moved to the center, he and Maddison combined to become Tottenham's best attacking route. As Louis Saha and other EPL pundits have noted, the nail system can only take you so far. Son is a winger. He doesn't have the goal instinct that a center forward should have. He will show his limitations against stronger teams.

However, Son has proven it on the field. In games against top teams like Liverpool and Arsenal, Son showed excellent decision-making and revealed his hidden goal instincts. 토토

He's not like Harry Kane. He wreaked havoc on opposing defenses with his blistering pace, moving between the left and right flanks and through the center of the field.

After a 10-match unbeaten run, Tottenham hit an injury reef. Maddison and van der Penne went down, and midfielders like Romero, Udoji, and Sarr were in and out due to suspension and injury.

In the end, Postecoglou made a strong change, again centered on Son Heung-min. He moved Son back to the left wing, leaving the center of the field to the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri. It worked.

Heung-min scored a goal and two assists against Newcastle as he dominated down the left flank. He also scored a goal and led the Tottenham attack. Now there's another variable. Tottenham will have to give Son Heung-min to the South Korean national team for the Asian Cup in January. However, Postecoglou is planning to make other changes to his squad, with the likes of Hicharisson and Klucepski at the center of his plans.

As the local media said, "Son's absence in January is definitely a blow. However, Postecoglou has another master plan in mind, centered around Hyssop and Kluczewski.

In other words, the front line can still work out a plan to make up for Son's absence. There's still time for that.

However, without key center back Romero, a defense without van der Penne, and a back three without Sarr and Bissouma, Spurs have a hole to fill. Therefore, Postecoglou is prioritizing midfield and defense.

'Postecoglou has seen his squad's weaknesses brutally exposed recently, so he is desperate to add a central midfielder,' says TeamTalk. He is also keen to bolster the backline, where he is forced to use Emerson Royal and Ben Davies as an emergency center-back combination. We are desperate to sign players who have been linked with a move to Tottenham, such as Edmond Topsova, Jonathan Tah and Sebastien Caceres, and we believe that this should be a priority over signing a new striker in the January transfer window.
