Tottenham captain Son Heung-min soared once again.
Heung-min scored a goal and an assist against Man City in a history-making triumph, rescuing Spurs from a three-game losing streak. Tottenham battled City to a hard-fought 3-3 draw in the 14th round of the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England, on Thursday (Nov. 4).
Son Heung-min opened the scoring six minutes into the match with a right-footed strike following a storming run. It was his ninth goal in the EPL this season and his eighth in 18 games against City.
Son gave up an own goal just 137 seconds after the opener, but he assisted Giovani Rosselso's equalizer in the 24th minute. Tottenham faltered after conceding back-to-back goals from City's Phil Foden and Jack Grealish, but Dejan Kulusebski scored a dramatic equalizer in the 45th minute to secure a valuable point.

Even Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was full of praise, telling Sky Sports: "There's nowhere more difficult for a striker, a center forward, a top player to play than Man City. You don't get many chances on the ball. But Son didn't stop running. He scored a goal himself, and he's a good player with his teammates." "When you talk about the real greats in the league offensively, you think of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane or some of the players at City. But today you saw Son Heung-min. He never stopped sprinting, he was the leader of the team and a real captain."
He also called out Marcus Rashford of Manchester United. Rashford had emerged as a savior last season with 17 goals and five assists in 35 league games.
This season, however, he has just two goals and one assist in 13 games and has been criticized for his form.
United lost 0-1 away to Newcastle United on March 3. It was United's third consecutive defeat against Newcastle in 101 years, dating back to 1922.
Carragher said: "We're not asking for goals and assists from Rashford. We've seen that in the past, but the points will come. What we're asking for is leadership," he said. "The players have to look up to Rashford. He's Man United, he embodies this football club, and he has to lead them. United is an unbelievable football club and they will get back to the top. But it's Rashford's job, coming from the youth ranks, to lead United."
