Kim Soo-hyun (28-Busan City Athletic Association) roared as he lifted the barbell above his head in a jerk. But the first call from the judges was "no lift" (failure). After requesting a video review and anxiously awaiting the outcome, Kim broke down and burst into tears when the original decision was overturned.

Kim won South Korea's second medal in weightlifting. She lifted a total of 243 kg (105 kg in the lift and 138 kg in the snatch) to win the bronze medal at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games on Friday at the Xiaoshan Sports Center in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, in the women's 76 kg weightlifting event. It was her first Asian Games medal after back-to-back fourth-place finishes at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang and 2014 Incheon Games. It was her second medal after Lee Sang-yeon, who finished third in the men's 67kg event on the previous day.

Kim Soo-hyun lifted 105 kilograms in the first round of the competition but failed in the second and third rounds at 109 kilograms. He then tried 132kg, 136kg, and 138kg in the rising phase and lifted them all, but the last 138kg, which was ruled a failure, was overturned as a success after video review to secure third place. He had been disqualified two years ago at the Tokyo Olympics for a failed attempt in the second phase (140 kilograms). He cried like he did then, but this time it was tears of joy.

He's a classic "Jang Jang Lan kid.  바카라사이트

As a junior high school student, he watched Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Jang Jang-ran perform at the Beijing Olympics (2008) and was immediately drawn to the world of weightlifting.

Since then, the two have become close friends, and Jang has become one of Korea's most prominent weightlifters, taking third place at the World Championships in Bogota, Colombia, last December and winning the Asian Championships in Jinju, South Korea, in May.

When Vice Minister Jang visited the Jincheon Athletes' Village in August, he personally signed her weightlifting belt.

North Korea took the gold and silver medals on the day.

Song Kuk-hyang, 22, took first place with a total of 267 kilograms (117 kilograms in the lift and 150 kilograms in the snatch), while Chung Chun-hee finished second with a total of 266 kilograms (117 kilograms in the lift and 149 kilograms in the snatch).

North Korea has won 13 medals (6 gold, 5 silver, 2 bronze) in weightlifting alone at the Games, overtaking second-place China (3 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze).
