His Excellency Ung Rachana, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Member of the High-Level Representative for ASEAN Community's Post-2025 Vision (HLTF-ACV), attended the 14th Meeting of the HLTF-ACV From 27 to 30 April 2024 in Pattaya, Thailand.
The Meeting concluded the first reading of the Draft on ASEAN Political and Security Community (APSC) Strategic Plan for ASEAN Community Vision 2045 which is expected to be ready by the end of this year and to be summited to ASEAN Leaders for adoption during the first half of 2025.
While attending the 14th HLTF-AVC meeting, the HLTF-ACV also had a joint interface with the Chairs of the HLTF on ASEAN Economic Integration (HLTF-EI), Co-Chairs of Ad Hoc Working Group on the Development of ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Post-2025 Strategic Plan, and the Chair of ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee (ACCC) to share their views on matters arising during the course of crafting respective Strategic Plan and work progress.

The 14th Meeting of the ASEAN-Australia Joint Cooperation Committee (AAJCC) takes place today at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat to review ASEAN-Australia cooperation and discuss its future direction. The Meeting was co-chaired by Lao PDR and Australia and attended by ASEAN Member States and the ASEAN Secretariat. Timor-Leste attended as Observer.

A Partnership for the Future
At the 2024 ASEAN-Australia Special Summit to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN-Australia Dialogue Relations, Australia announced a range of new and expanded initiatives. - The Climate and Clean Energy Transition Forum brought together over 160 participants from Australia, ASEAN and Timor-Leste to boost collaboration and investment in the region’s clean energy transition.

- The Emerging Leaders’ Dialogue brought together 65 next generation leaders from Australia, ASEAN and Timor-Leste for in-depth discussions on key economic, social and geopolitical challenges facing the region.
- Emerging leaders canvassed new ideas on how to accelerate digital transformation and build the skills, capabilities and solutions needed to bolster sustainable development and enhance regional peace and prosperity.
- The connections built provide a platform for sustained cooperation on technology, business, social enterprise and policymaking.
Maritime Cooperation
- The Maritime Cooperation Forum brought together maritime officials and experts from Australia, ASEAN and Timor-Leste to generate new solutions to shared maritime challenges.
- Over 100 maritime experts convened for a Track 2 Conference to present new maritime research and forge future research partnerships on marine environment, safety, security and the Blue Economy.
- The first Track 1.5 Maritime Dialogue between ASEAN and Australia enhanced maritime cooperation, supporting implementation of the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific and ASEAN Maritime Outlook to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence in maritime enforcement roles.
ASEAN-Australia Week
A program of academic, cultural, educational and business events by external organisations complemented the official Special Summit program.
