Wicked: Part I – Movie Review
This review is written from the perspective of someone who grew up on Victor Fleming's The Wizard of Oz and read several of L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz series in his childhood. Take it as you wish. But trust me when I say that Wicked: Part I, directed by Jon M. Chu, is not only one of the best movies of the year, but also absolute perfection.
It's a breathtaking adaptation that makes the eyes and ears dance while touching the heart and soul as it interprets the beginnings of . . .

Wicked: Part I Review
I came to WICKED: PART I unprepared. I had never seen the musical, heard any of the songs, or known anything about the plot. Here's what I found out:
The film is the first act of a two-act musical prequel to The Wizard of Oz. It begins with the death of the Wicked Witch of the West, heralded by the Good Witch Glinda, and takes us back to their teenage friendship at the unfortunately named Shiz College.
We learn that the Wicked Witch was actually a thoughtful, earnest, and sensitive gir . . .

Blitz Offers A New Perspective On War But Fails To Compel
2 days ago
We all know that war is hell and ruins many people's lives. Many films have been made documenting the tragedies of conflicts, but we see war from a child's perspective. Renowned director Steve McQueen's latest film, Blitz, attempts to do just that, and is set in London during World War II, when Britain struggles against the German air attacks known as the Blitz. British adults are considering a plan to send children to the countryside away from the bombing of the city, and . . .

Review: Blitz 2024 By Theflixtor

Films have dealt with air raids, such as The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, Hope, Glory and Atonement, and The Chronicles of Narnia, which features a group of brothers heading into the countryside in search of safety. But the Blitz here is not a momentary coda, an unseen threat, or a rapidly succeeding event. Rather, McQueen's film is about the trials of surviving terror, death and destruction, day after day. Hans Zimmer accompanies these events with cacophonies and shrill sounds that soun . . .

Review: Absolution (2024) Movie
When Liam Neeson's nameless gangster first appears in Absolution, we immediately assume this is a period piece. The character's car, clothes, and beard look like they're from the 1970s, but soon people in the story call the guy a relic, and it becomes clear that we're in the present day. But our guy is stuck in the past - and not just because of his clothes or sideburns.
Neeson's presence also gives the impression that Hans Petter Moland's film might be action-focused, . . .

Absolution 2024 Movie Review

Sugg has probably expected to die in a dark alleyway years ago, and the prospect of his humanity slowly fading forces him to confront it, perhaps for the first time, with only regret. He longs to get in touch with his daughter Daisy (Frankie Shaw), whom he was separated from for years by alcoholism and neglect, and to see his grandson Dre (Terrence Pulliam). At the same time, he strives to get out of the underworld with some dignity, and a brief encounter with a human trafficking ring might offe . . .

Rumours Movies Review

Director Guy Maddin's name is almost synonymous with the term "acquired taste." Borrowing techniques from silent movies and classic melodramas, full of otherworldly imagery and weird sex, and sometimes deliberately stiff acting and wounding imagery, he has crafted an absolutely unique filmography. It's no surprise to anyone with a normal mind that not all moviegoers are on board. But for his fans, and I am one of them, his films are incredibly funny, mind-blowing and unexpected . . .
