Lyles Wins the 200m at the Zurich Diamond League

Lyles recorded 19.80 seconds in the men's 200m final of the 2023 World Association of Athletics Federations Zurich Diamond League held in Zurich, Switzerland on the 1st (Korean time), beating Irian Knighton (17, USA), who ran 19.87 seconds.
Lyles won three gold medals in the men's 100m (9.83), 200m (19.52), and 400m relay (37.38) at the Budapest World Championships last month.
The three-time winner of a single World Championships in Athletics was achieved eight years after Bolt at the 2015 Beijing Games.
Even in the first race after the World Championships, Lyles crossed the finish line first.
“Everyone wants to beat me,
but I have no intention of giving up the crown,” Lyles said in an interview with the tournament organizing committee after the match.
“I was tired because it was right after the World Championships, but I gained strength by running with the support of the crowd.” He said.
Shercare Richardson (USA), who won two gold medals in the women's 100m (10.65) and 400m relay (41.03) at the Budapest World Championships, also participated in the 100m in Zurich and won with 10.88.

World championship champions in other sports also maintained their place at the top.
Ulimar Rojas (Venezuela), who won the women's triple jump title for the fourth time in a row at the World Championships, won by jumping 15m18, and Armand Duplantis (Sweden) also took first place in the men's pole vault by surpassing 6m.
Winfred Yavi (Bahrain), who became a naturalized citizen of Kenya, also ranked first in the women's 3,000m hurdles with a time of 9 minutes 03.09 seconds in the Zurich Diamond League following the World Championships.
Sherika Jackson (Jamaica) won the women's 200m in 21.82 seconds.
Jackson is a strong contender in this event, having won her second consecutive World Championship title.
