The Dread And Fun Of Stretching Your Own Canvas.
Back To Blogs List
My children and grandchildren inspire me to create art these days. I use the teachings and life lessons I learned through my military career to create pieces of who I am so that I can communicate that to the ones I love the most. Sometimes I feel as though I fail to tell them (my kids and grandkids) how much I do love them. So I immortalize that into my art. Forever telling them of my love for them and the sacrifices I made so that they could live a better life.
I was dreading earlier today of stretching canvas so that I would be able to do more pieces.I finished stretching canvas with help from my 4 year old granddaughter, Jasmine. Since she has no school tomorrow and my wife and I will be watching her we have a chance for sometime to spend together., She stated that she gets some of the canvas to paint with since she helped and I can't paint tomorrow until she gets there. Guess I will have a partner in crime as we both indulge in oil paints!
The real fun will be when my granddaughter and I start painting together. She loves to dabble in fingerpainting so I figure that she will be covered with oil paints. That is when the grandparents send the grandkids home to the parents to let the parents clean up the mess that was somewhat caused by the grandparents. But that is what we are here for...to spoil them as we teach them! And to teach them as we spoil them!
