Inside Out 2 falls short of surpassing its predecessor, but it does move the characters forward in a logical way. The film is filled with clever humor, creative visuals, and characters that have hidden depths. Riley's journey through puberty introduces more complex emotions. New characters like Envy and Ennui add depth to the story, although Embarrassment could have been given more screen time. Maya Hawke's portrayal of Anxiety is a highlight in the film.
