By refusing to have Wei adopt the face of a white man, the final act of the Grafted Lookmovie story loses an opportunity to further its commentary, and the climactic twist comes off as a poorly considered chance for some body-fusing in the vein of Screaming Mad George rather than a satisfying thematic conclusion. However, all things considered, Rainbow makes a confident and quite promising debut, adding a feminine touch to a horror subgenre that was traditionally dominated by men.
