Michael Claxton
Michael Claxton aims to capture the essence of distant view, capturing the way light interacts with the landscape and nature.
The Peak District is often reflected in Michael’s work as he regularly goes walking there, taking as much in as possible of the ever-changing landscape. Travelling around the UK coastline is also a great love and inspiration.
Michael likes to work from memory. This gives him more freedom of expression and the ability to work using bold open brush stokes alongside palette knife work, achieving rich textured paintings, creating more energy and emotion.
