Artist
Traci Gunn is a Licensed Psychotherapist who lives in a peaceful and laughter-filled home with her fiancé and fuzzy rescue “children" in California. Traci has utilized art as a healing activity since her childhood, when indulging in the making of mudpies. Traci has a two degrees (Masters in Art Therapy and Masters in Counseling Psychology). Her education has impacted and influenced her love of art and expression, and desire to bring the healing arts into her world every day.
Traci utilizes a childlike approach in letting the objects and images spontaneously offer up who they are. Traci's Masters thesis which was titled, "Art as Voice of the Soul: A creative exploration from grief to new identity." This thesis allowed a journey of drawing, painting, and sculpting images to process her grief over the death of family members, and moving into new beginnings and new identity. In addition to exploring traditional approaches to figurative drawing and composition, Traci utilizes depth psychology techniques of active imagination and honoring dream imagery. The range of imagery includes charcoal, acrylic, oil, and ceramic sculpture - with a mood range of calm, soulful, peaceful, dark and whimsical.
