Iva Milson
Artist
“I am the canvas ………………..that continues to learn, evolve, and change.” My change is seen through the looseness or tightening in my strokes. When expressing my awareness and perceptions, I enjoy sharing my colors most of all.
Iva Milson’s inspiration comes from childhood memories of watching her father paint. She recalls a warm, awe-inspiring, and calm environment as he painted vibrant scenery from Hawaii . The Hawaiian culture, the island flora, the people, the red clay soil, the language, the culture, and the music, lend an infusion of warmth, humor, and comfort.
Ms. Milson, a self taught artist, works to express feelings with her choice of colors and texture on canvas. She is influenced by the works of Paul Gauguin, Marc Chagall , Frida Kahlo, Barrington Watson, Henry Tanner, John Outterbridge, and Georgia O’Keefe, to name a few.
