John Cummings
Artist
John Richard Cummings was born November 22, 1951 In Akron, Ohio. Art has been and still is a very important part of his life. Over the course of time, he has studied composition art, which included a variety of subject matter - wildlife, still life, and people - under Jack Richard and studied anatomy art under Dino Massoroni. Cummings also studied Wildlife art with Mark Moser, and Still life with Ken Pledger. His natural gift for the arts combined with the skills he has acquired from his teachers and other artistic minds have given him an amazing ability to capture mood, apply colors and textures, as well as use any number of techniques combined with his very own style to make any of his creations truly one of a kind.
Pieces of John's work can be found in the offices of Senators Tom Sawyer and Roy Ray, both former mayors of Akron, Ohio. (See Tom Sawyer's letter to John) He also has done work for the Akron Police Museum and many offices at Akron's City Hall are decorated with his work. John has also created pieces used to aid in fund raising for charitable organizations such as Special Olympics (2) and Mount Pilot School.
