Artwork Description
This picture of a Golden Eagle descending on a hare, against a mountainous backdrop, was one of the first digital nature pieces I created. I was trying to convey the feel of the chase between predator and prey. If you look closely you can see the splash of sand from the front paws and the flung sand from the back legs as the hare takes off along the lake shore. The eyes of the hare are wide open, both in fear and focus of what it must do to survive this threat. The wings of the eagle are spread wide to help both adjust it's trajectory and slow down at the last moment. The Taloned feet begin to open in anticipation of the kill. I have a feeling the hare will get away but you never know in this unpredictable deadly game.
