How Does It Work.
In order to facilitate the sale of original artworks we've created the Original Offer / Inquiry Form. When you list your original artworks as available, a potential collector or buyer will be able to contact you using the original offer form.
This feature makes it easier to track and manage original artwork offers and/or inquiries for both artists and collectors. If your artwork original is marked for sale, then the form will be accessible from your artwork page.
When you get an original offer or an inquiry, you'll receive an E-Mail notification as well as an alert in your
inbox.You can also see your
Original Offers/Inquiries under the
My Account submenu or the
Account Management subsection of your
dashboard.
What you should know.
- We do not facilitate financial transactions for Original Artwork offers or purchases.
- Any financial transactions and shipping arrangements must be made directly between the seller (artist) and the buyer.
- We merely facilitate the ability of the buyer and seller to communicate and are not responsible for any financial or property loss.
- You keep 100% of the amount from your original artwork sales. We do not get any commission.
- We recommend our artists to use PayPal for financial transactions and to purchase shipping insurance for any artwork you send out.
- And, most importantly, never send an original without receiving full payment first. Needless to say, make sure any checks sent by the buyer clear first.
Isn't it easier to communicate via E-Mail?
Yes and No. While sending and receiving E-Mails directly may seem easier, it also exposes you to spammers and scammers.
To help you deal with some of those threats and annoyances we've included some built in security features.
- Built in CAPTCHA verification for human input - prevents spam robots from sending you malicious emails in the first place.
- Automatic Threat Assessment - Checks the IP address of the sender against the largest online database of spammers. (Courtesy of Project Honey Pot)
- IP Back-Trace - Find out the City, State, Country of where the "Collector" sent you an offer from. Does the "Collector" want you to send an original to some foreign country? Find out if the location and the requested shipping destinations match.
- Built in Message Cleanup - Automatically removes any HTML from the offer/inquiry messages. Protects you from clicking on links disguised as something else (also known Phishing links). This forces the sender to expose the true destination of any links in the message.
